Optical and Mechanical Systems (SOM)

The Optical and Mechanical Systems (SOM) department helps design and build the mechanical and optical systems and subsystems developed at IPAG. The department manages the mechanical and optical manufacturing and the follow-up of subcontracting for these systems. It ensures the mechanical realization of parts in support of the integrations and defines the tools required for the optical and/or mechanical design. The members of SOM contribute to the integrations carried out in the laboratory and to the validation of the instruments or systems and ensure the coherence of the interfaces, the choice of the technical solutions. Finally, SOM feeds the "Platforms and instrumental integrations" service to carry out the integrations.
