The emission of X-ray photons from the innermost regions of the accretion disk around black holes is strongly affected by strong gravity effects. These effects are imprinted on the X-ray spectra of such sources. Detailed modeling employing General Relativistic ray-tracing allows to constrain characteristic parameters of the system such as the spin of the black hole or the location of the primary source of X-rays. I will present a more self-consistent approach to model these so-called relativistic reflection features, show applications of the model to high-resolution spectra of currently operating X-ray missions and highlight the prospects for the next generation of telescopes.
