Internships are proposed for 2025/26

To apply for an internship, please send me your curriculum vitae and a covering letter.

(1)    Trans-Neptunian Objects as seen by the JWST telescope: CO2:H2O chemistry induced by ion and electron irradiation

‍        - 2nd year Master

‍        - 4 months

This internship focuses on the chemical evolution of CO2:H2O mixtures to better understand the surface chemistry of TNOs and to put constraints on the formationof red organics and their ooptical properties. The study will be mainly based on experiments conducted at IPAG with an electron source (2-20 keV) and at GANIL (Grand Accélérateur National d’Ions Lourds) with swift heavy ions. The experiments will be used to analyze JWST observations covering the spectral range 0.4-5 µm.

This intership is aimed at 2nd year Masters level students with a background in Astrophysics/Planetary Sciences, Physics or Physical Chemistry. Excellent students from Ecoles nationales de Chimie (or other) with strong experimental training are encouraged to apply. It is possible to continue with a thesis.
