The deployment of the instrument GRAVITY+ at the VLTI on Cerro Paranal (ESO/Chile) planned in 2024-2026 and the recent start of science operation with the James Webb Space Telescope provide a promising opportunity to consider multi-technique, multi-wavelength approaches to obtain a detailed view of planet-forming disks at all scales around young stellar objects.

We propose to organize a 3-day workshop in Grenoble on June 11-13, 2024, bringing together a community of experts in observing and modeling protoplanetary disks as well as star and planet formation processes. One goal is to elaborate scientific programs to be jointly carried out with GRAVITY+ and other instruments (e.g., VLT, ALMA, ELT, JWST, CFHT). We aim at fostering discussions on possible strategies that will ensure, through coordinated European and/or national initiatives, the funding and sustainability of the resources needed for the in-depth scientific exploitation of multi-instrument campaigns.

The workshop will include 6 sessions introduced by invited speakers and members of the community. Sessions will focus on the connection between different spatial and dynamical scales of protoplanetary disks, their chemical evolution, the accretion-ejection processes, the star-disk and planet-disk interactions, and the connection to complementary surveys and large programs. Contributed talks, in particular from young researchers, are encouraged; round-table discussions will be organized to explore possible synergies, generate new ideas and programs, and share expertise.

Registration is free of charge but compulsory. Lunches and coffee breaks will be covered by the workshop funds. Participants are responsible for their own transportation, accommodation, and dinners.

The audience will be limited to about 50 persons for logistical reasons.

The workshop will take place on the Grenoble University Campus, easily reached from Grenoble downtown by tram (about 15 min).
