I am a high-energy Astrophysicist interested in the interactions between compact objects and their environment: I use multi-wavelength observations to study phenomena happening around stellar-mass black holes in X-ray binaries and supermassive black holes at the center of galaxies, including our own.

The supermassive black hole at the Galactic center

Thanks to its proximity, the Galactic center is an excellent laboratory to study both accretion and feedback processes associated with a supermassive black hole. I explore the X-ray diffuse emission associated with molecular structures present in the region to identify relics of previous activities and investigate their origin.

Populations of hard X-ray sources

Since the supermassive black hole is not the only object leaving imprints in the Galactic environment, it is important to have an exhaustive knowledge of existing energetic sources. I participate in dedicated observation campaigns aiming at identifying individual point sources and constraining their populations.

Outbursts from X-ray binaries

Among Galactic transients, outbursts from X-ray binaries are also essential tools to probe ejections and multi-wavelength emissions associated with accretion processes. I am involved in multi-wavelength monitorings aiming at better understanding the physics of these events and their evolution over time.
