The project science team gathers for a progress meeting. The NEAT (Nearby Earth Astrometric Telescope) mission is a proposition that has been submitted to ESA for its 2010 call for M-size mission within the Cosmic Vision 2015-2025 plan. The main scientific goal of the NEAT mission is to detect and characterize planetary systems in an exhaustive way down to 1 Earth mass in the habitable zone and further away, around nearby stars for F, G, and K spectral types.

Un axe de recherche transverse "Astrochimie" a été mis en place à Grenoble en 2010 dans le cadre de la fusion entre le laboratoire d’Astrophysique et le laboratoire de Planétologie. L’objectif de cet axe est de faire émerger de nouvelles thématiques de recherche en s’appuyant sur la complémentarité expériences/théorie/observation qui fait la force et l’originalité du nouvel Institut de Planétologie et d’Astrophysique de Grenoble (IPAG). Workshop IPAG du 8 au 9 décembre 2011

Nous organisons un atelier d’astrostatistique les 8 et 9 Décembre 2011 à l’IPAG (Institut de Planétologie et d’Astrophysique de Grenoble).
Ce premier atelier a pour objectif de recenser les activités en France autour de l’astrostatistique. L’idée est de faire un tour d’horizon des compétences et intérêts autour de cette discipline en rassemblant astrophysiciens et statisticiens, et de décider comment organiser cette communauté pour faciliter les échanges, collaborations et formations. L’étude des émissions lumineuses des hautes atmosphères planétaires qu’elles soient aurorales ou non est à un point crucial de son histoire. D’une part, des missions vers de nombreuses planètes ou satellites sont en préparation comme Mercure, Ganymède ou Uranus... D’autre part, la découverte de nombreuses exoplanètes enrichit considérablement le panel d’exemples disponibles.
