LOCATION
The conference will be held from Sunday October 7, to Saturday 13 October, 2007, at the Trzebieszowice Castle in Lower Silesia in Poland.
The Trzebieszowice Castle is quite large and impressive. It is located in a big park, not far from Ladek-Zdroj, a well-known Silesian spa. The Castle was recently renovated, and now it hosts a four-star hotel, with splendid halls, nice rooms and modern conference facilities.

Participants from EU countries need no entry visa to Poland, but participants from other countries may need a visa. Please check your case.

Timetables for Polish (and European) trains
Participants will be arriving to Wroclaw during Sunday October 7, and stay till 6pm at the Kalambur Club there. The Kalambur Club is located just near the baroque main building of the Wroclaw University, and a few minutes walk from the Old Town Market. A part of the Club will be rented only for us for the whole day. A buffet meal will be served at the Club free for all participants and their guests. At 6pm a bus will take the participants and their guests (free of charge) to the Trzebieszowice Castle, which is the conference site. After the conference, on Saturday 13 October in the morning, a bus will take everybody (again free of charge) back to Wroclaw (city centre, airport, train station). The bus will arrive at the Wroclaw airport at 11:45am. The bus departure time on Saturday 13 October may be changed, if needed.
SOCIAL PROGRAM
Social program (a visit to an impressive cave, Jaskinia Niedzwiedzia) is free for all. I asked a New York friend who lives near the Castle, to help me with the guest social program. This will be arranged at the spot, according to needs. She may take the guests in her car to some nearby interesting places, for example (free for guests).
FEES
There will be no conference fee. There is free internet in all rooms. Lodging and conference meals at the Castle will be free for participants. However, I ask all participants and their guests to pay (directly to the Castle reception desk) a single total contribution of 100 PLN (about 27 EUR) for wine at dinners. Guests pay for their lodging, all meals, and all extras at the Castle. The total fee for a guest at the Castle (6 nights, and each day breakfast, lunch, dinner and coffee at all breaks) is 1060 PLN = 387 USD = 278 EUR.
All major credit cards are accepted at the Castle for payments. Payments in cash must be done in PLN (the Polish currency). There is no money exchange office at the Castle. You are advised to change money at the airport. The nearest bank is in Ladek Zdroj, about 15 minutes by car (one way).
WEATHER & JACKETS
October in Poland may be rainy and even cold. Please, bring your overcoats, sweaters and umbrellas. Gentlemen, please bring also your jackets and ties for dinners at the Castle.
MEDICAL
Participants from EU countries are asked to have the European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) with them, as the EHIC gives rights to a medical insurance in Poland (according to the standard EU rules). Note that the E111 form is not valid anymore. Information on how to apply for EHIC. Participants from other countries are advised to arrange for their own travel and medical insurance at their home countries before departing. There is no medical service at the Castle, but a visit by an English speaking doctor may be quickly arranged, if needed.
